What type of camo ?
What type of camo do you use and like ?
I like the Viet Nam Tiger Stripe when bear hunting in Spruce/Evergreen forest. I like the Hardwoods HD Breakup when hunting white tail in oak woods. |

. . . . . Brown work boots. . . . . Blue Jeans. . . . . Erm grey or sometimes realtree, or sometimes standard camo, and this year maybe that one new pattern I got at wal-mart for 5 bucks t-shirt. . . . . Tiger stripe or standard camo bandana to keep my bald spot from burning. . . . oh and a green military jacket if its super cold, if not I have a new realtree camo longsleeve shirt if it is just chilly. . . . .
Last deer I shot in this "camo" I shot at less then 15 yards with a single shot shotgun. I once made a bowhunter nearly wet himself in this camo because I was stalking the same deer he was and he didn't see me. . . . . To be honest I didn't see him either I was eyeballin the deer. GoodOlBoy

I guess I am with GoodOlBoy on this one. Most of the time, when I am afield, I will be wearing dark brown or green chinos, and a long sleeve shirt, either brown, green or gray. I was killing deer, ducks, and squirrels long before camo was available, and had no problems then or now, in still hunting, wearing earth tones and red checked wool shirts.

When I was leasing public hunting land here, I wore realtree from head to toe, and realtree tape for my rifle and bino. Not for the deer, but for the tree huggin' tofu eaters (yes we got them here).
About six years ago I was in my high seat, an elderly couple was walking, stopped and looked in my direction kinda made a "Hummmm" noise, then walked away looking back a few times, was hard as heck to hold my laughter. But the last ore deer I shot before the move, I was wearing a pair of Dicky blue jeans, a white Homer Simpson t-shirt, with a blue Rod & Gun Club windbreaker, and white Nikes. I was just going around to check my stands after a storm, and through my bino I saw a young roe buck, went to the last stand where I thought he may be wandering towards, about 800m away, and about 45 minutes later, the Savage .243 that I almost didn't bring, connected with his little heart.

Most of my camo hunting clothes are realtree (or some variant thereof), but I've killed deer wearing jeans and a longsleeve t-shirt before too. The need for camo is really dependant on terrain and foliage in the hunting area.

I don't see many hunters using camo today. Maybe a top or pants but rarely a complete outfit. Like many guys I wear green or some shade of brown and let it go at that. I wonder if camo has fallen out of favor? Best wishes.

Archery hunting I use an ASAT 3-D suit most of the time. If I am hunting in the high aspens, I have a specialized aspen pattern camo. If everything else is dirty I have a bunch of Natural Gear camo I got way cheap from Wal mart.
When rifle hunting we have to wear blaze orange so I have an assortment of jackets and shirts. Which I wear over my natural gear since I have so much, it is cheaper than tearing up my jeans. |

Well I have a pair of Real Tree Deerhunter trousers (pants) only because they didn't have any green and I needed them then the jacket is a green Moleskin Deerhunter with membrane so it's wind and water proof.
Now if I go Pigeon shooting then I use cammo which is British Army DPM jacket and trousers or I wear the Deerhunters. Pigeon shooting here (Woodpigeons that is) you need a face veil and gloves too if any skin shows they spot it a mile off and vear away. This is shotgun wing shooting normally over decoys and is more crop protection than sport although it's great sport plus the breast is really nice to eat Oh no close season and no limits either

I know quite a few young men out there who wear camo all the time because apparently alot of the "ladies" like it. . . . . so I guess camo aint dead for all types of hunting
