crossbow scope

Would it hurt to mount a rifle scope onto a crossbow?... would the shock destroy the scope when fired....I heard you can't put them on a pelet rifle because of the recoil....I sure don't want to mount my lighted scope on one if it will damage it....thanks

Sorry, I have no experience with crossbows whatsoever.
You might find some info by checking the manufacturer of your crossbow's website.
Good luck

Have had a cheap simmons on mine for 10 years, many shots down range, still holds zero just fine.

Thanks for the reply..where I sit for archery is pretty dark even well after sun up and at times quite hard to find the x so figured an iluminated scope would be the way to go in there...I just didn't want to buy another one or kill the one I have....happy hunting ...just around the corner.

Crossbow

I have a 3 dot Simmons on my Parker Terminator rated at 150 lb pull and 320 fps. Have it sighted so that the top dot hits at 20 yards middle at 30 and bottom at about 40. No problems with holding zero, costs less than $50.

These replies make me feel better now. I went ahead and mounted the scope. I know is way overkill to mount a 3x12x50 IR on a Horton Hunter XS 200Lb but at the 3 power is just perfect. Don't think I would ever crank it to 12 for croxxbow shot unless I want to see if the deer has fleas first....anyhow with the dial a range compensator on O...set at 20yd then the #1 spot works at 30 and #2 at 40. Wouldn't shoot beyond that myself so happy and these slots on dial a range work out to be right on for this set up. The 4X scope I got with the bow that has the lines in it for your yardage were set up for the 150lb bows as Horton told me and I would have to use the SWAG system to figure out where they would hit the given target. The SWAG system wasn't good enough for me........I still might have to check into the 3 dot for when I remove this and put it back where it belongs..the 7mag. Happy hunting to all....I almost hit on the highway a nice tall rack 12 pt a week ago...came out and was going into posted ground with no access....yea...tell me they can't read.
