Thumbs up My friends NM Bull

My friend Rod just returned from NM. He was fortunate enough to get himself a nice 6x6. He was using the G5 broadhead. Bull went about 80 yards and piled up. grayghost

Huning this year was tougher than ever before. This was my 7th year in northern New Mexico near Chama hunting elk. They have had so much rain since July the grass was green everywhere and the elk didn't need to move far from there beds to find food. They also were very reluctant to come to calls so the order of the hunt was spot and stalk. My hunter I was guiding got within 60 yards of two 5x5's but we couldn't close the deal. I hunted the last 6 days on my own and had two close encounters with this bull and finally got him the last evening. He had two cows with him and they wanted nothing to do with my decoy but I did have the wind on my side so I stalked him almost 100 yds to get within 40 for a perfect broadside shot. I'm headed to Colorado in the middle of October so I can't wait for the fun to start again!
