As a follow up question to the one about clothes, how do I keep my body scent free as long as possible?
Thanks in advance, TJ

I use odorless soap although I don't think it lasts that long- maybe a couple of hours. I don't know if the scentless deodorants work or not- never tried them.

Been here before.
No reason to not use the "scentless" soaps, although for deer I suspect they are far from scentless. Just because YOU can't smell it doesn't mean an animal with 10,000 times more scenting power can't. But it will be a serious mistake to think you can be scentless to a deer under any circumstances. Just be aware of where your scent is going and hunt accordingly. You will always leave a scent trail. It's like the deer cosmetics industry inventing a soap for deer that they claimed made any deer who washed with it colorless so we hunters with our color vision couldn't see them. Think it would work? |

Now do not get me wrong...............this scent free thing is a good idea. I think we can all agree that the less scent we spread around the better.........most of the time.
However, the 'scent free' is very much another gimmicky thing that has been pushed by the companies as a must have and must do, just as they have done with camo. Marketing! In the 'olden days' I still managed to fill my tags and get nice trophies wearing a plaid shirt and jeans, and by watching the wind and hunting accordingly. I do not deny that Scent Lok clothing and good hygiene reduce the intensity of our odor but they do not eliminate it. You still need to remember the basics. |
