More 7x57 Load Data
Made it back to the range for an hour today, and collected a bit more "adult load" data for my 7x57.
This rifle has a long throat. 162 grain Hornadys are about .050" off the lands. That may produce lower pressure and speed than other rifles. Also note that your rifle will be different, and your jar of powder will be different, so this data is for reference and comparison only: Powder: H414 Bullet: 150 grain Sierra BTSP COL: 3.090" Primer: CCI 200 Today's temperature at the range: 52F I kept the ammo in an inside jacket pocket, and warmed up the barrel with some other loads. I did the shots fairly rapidly, to keep the barrel warm. Grains.....PSI..........FPS 45..........35,645.....2508 46..........38,993.....2564 47..........42,339.....2620 48..........45,686.....2675 49..........49,032.....2731 Results projected for another grain: 50.........52,379.....2787 56 FPS and 3346 PSI per additional grain. So this is an OK load. H4350 can do a little better, within safe pressure limits. |
