Cool Hunting knife

What's the hunting knife you carry with you? Is it fixed blade or folding? I personally have a fixed blade Buck Vanguard with the wood and brass handle. Looks almost too pretty to use. I'll probably also carry my folding SOG Flash II. It is flat, lightweight, and spring assisted. (Just in case any elk sneak up on me, LOL)

Thanks, TJ

I have a Schrade fixed blade Old Timer with a gut hook that my ex got me for Father's Day a few years back. Sharpens easy and holds an edge well. I also carry a pocket knife, a multi tool and a larger fixed blade (Cold Steel SRK in my pack).

I have a gerber gator folder, a imitation whitetail skinner (works great) and a custom caping knife that its used around the rear end.

I am also in the process of building my own custom knife for hunting, the steel tends to hold its edge longer.

My carry knife is a folder, but I also have a fixed blade Schrade in the truck. A good weight quality folder, like a Puma, can handle a good sized animal, and is handy being on the belt when you need it. For those larger animals, a fixed is easier with more leverage, but more 'in the way'. My folder is similar to this, and has held up super well. Over the years I've got carried away with knives, I must have 15 or 20 in the drawer, most never used 'cause what I use ain't wore out yet! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Fixed, custom Nolan Knife with a 3 1/2 inch blade. I'm also kind of a Old Timer fan, have them scattered throughout the house and vehicles, both fixed and folding. Carry a 3OT as a pocket knife.

I usually carry a Randall #11, and the little Brusletto Norwegian knife. I have others, but use these the most.
