Glad ta see ya back bud...Nice deer...nice rifle. Ya dropped the deer man...now ya gotta drop the paranoia. We won't laugh at your unaltered pic. Where'd ya kill him and how much did he weigh?? I really do like the rifle too. I have a Bushmaster Varminter in 223 for coyotes. A little too much glass as it has a Nikon 6x18 but it really shoots well. Better than me I think

He was a young deer with a large rack, didn't go over 180 lbs. Around here big bucks start at 220 and go up. I took one like that earlier that had broken off one entire antler making for a very unique "mount". It was much warmer then so we cut up our first couple deer rather quickly. The cold weather came just after we finished cutting.......
Took a nice 7 point buck as well. One of my best seasons in a while. I had to do some shuffling as the deer changed the way they travel through my area, and an active wolf pack has also impacted this.
I've been quite happy with the rifle so far and it's lived up to my expectations.

You may not be happy with that deer but he is still a niice one. I have shot a couple of coyotes with the Bushmaster...nice shooting rifle. Has a 2 stage trigger pull that took a little getting u
sed to...but when the trigger is ready to go it is really sweet...about 2 1/2 lbs.

Like the tag line about kids

My favorite is the sign that says SLOW children ahead. Hell most of 'em...the only way I can catch 'em is with a 4 wheeler and a rope!
Have to tell ya too man...if ya have an active wolf pack in the area...the deer population WILL fall. The elk population in the wolf impacted areas in Wyoming have dropped dramatically. Heck I don't live in an area you expect to see wolves in and there were 8 in my upper pasture amonth ago. Less tha 50 yds from the house

Skeet, don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with that buck! I was just explaining that as nice as he is, they grow much bigger here.

TBO,

It is definitely good to see you back here. I am debating on an AR-15 and an AR-10 for 2007. I debated this last year too, and thought I was going to buy both, but then decided to spend $5,000 on a new bike.

Anyway, I am looking at the DPMS line and the JP. I think I am going to go with the JP AR-15 and the DPMS 30S for the AR-10.

Wow, I just checked out DPMS's website and it is awesome. They must have made the changes to the website over the last 6 months. I love the fact that I can configure the rifle on the website and then have it sent to my local DPMS dealer. I also like the fact that I can get a JP trigger and gas block installed on the rifle. The only thing that would have made it nicer is if I could get the JP handguard too. I guess I can ask them about it. That would be my dream rifle in the Remington .300 SAUM. Here we go again, my wife is going to kill me. Between the bikes and the guns, I am going to be divorced.

We run .223 DPMS rifles at work and have been very happy with them. If you contact the company I'm sure they'll accommodate you. Very nice folks to deal with.
