MN grouse
Hunted pheasant and grouse in SW MN and NE MN with my brothers last week - pheasant at the beginning of the week and grouse toward the end. My son was able to join us for a Thursday afternoon hunt. Over the course of hunting Wednesday afternoon to Friday morning, between the five of us we bagged 14 birds and probably flushed as many which we either missed or couldn't shoot at (grouse cover what it is and all that). What I'm saying is, this is a good year for grouse.
Good hunting everyone. |

You had a nice week to do both. I'm still seeing lots of pheasants and even a few partridge. Where about in SW MN were you hunting pheasants ? I haven't hunted grouse in years, but I enjoy upland hunting even though I don't do near as much as I used to, you don't have to get up so darn early in the morning and they're good eating & easy to clean.
Hope you can get out some more.

MT,
Was hunting in the Russell/Tyler area. Just got back from my last pheasant hunt of the season last Saturday. As always, could have shot better, but a buddy I hunted with ended up with two, I ended up with two, and a farmer who joined us the first morning got one. Wish I could spare time for one more trip. |

I'm only a few miles from that area myself. I'm waiting for some snow to get out one more time before the season ends.
