First Marten

Well, we have 18 boxes out and on the first check we had our first marten. I was really happy as this is unchartered territory that we are trapping. We had been up there many times mushing dogs and cutting wood, but never trapping. We only cut one set of fresh tracks when we made the sets and it wasn't were we caught this one. I hope to catch some more.

Here is one of our boxes.

Here is the marten

No, we just boil them in baking soda and let them rust as time goes on. We might dye them next year.

Well he sure didn't get far into the box. Nice catch. I wish we had some other stuff like that to trap around here. Good luck on your line, thanks for the pics. BTW whats the bait you have hanging a bird?

That's a duck wing hanging as an attractant. We have beaver meat and Lenon's Super Marten All Call in the box.

The land we are trapping belongs to BLM. We also have state land too and both are free for us to roam, hunt, fish and trap.
