Lightbulb TBO update

I forgot to post on this board when I put out an update thread a while back on some of the boards I've participated in. Things are good, and the big change since I was regularly posting here is I am now the Chief of Police for my agency.

Happy holidays and wishes for a great new year.

Wow. Now you only have to do one thing. Try to find the time for the things you used to do that were fun. Congratulations... I think! Now, you also have to find a little humanity in the job which is hard to do sometimes. Tough to be in charge. Good luck

Congratulations. I recommend you reflect DAILY on any bad supervisors you may have had on the way up, and vow to be as different from them as humanly possible.

Congradulations. There will be days you wish that you were a field officer again, but hang in there. One thing about being Chief it changes who can help or hinder a program, good luck with budgets. Only advice I can give, is to make sure that you delegate authority when appropiate. Don't micro-manage. Best of luck in your new position.

Congratualtions! Hope you enjoy it and that you continue to grow in your profession. Leadership is a challenging role to fill. Much different from being a "doer".

Be wary of driving the wedge deeper between the police and the citizens who you serve and protect.
