We had some great playoff games this weekend, and the Bears squeezed a win out, as did the rest of the winning teams.
Now, we will have to see if they can beat the Saints. Sad thing is that I like all of the teams remaining in the playoffs, so I have no idea who to root for. However, I don't like Rex too much after he beat the heck out of the Terps in the Orange Bowl when he was playing for Florida.

fabs,
I know what you mean. I have a really hard time rooting for the Pats, simply because I don't like Belichick, or Brady. Being a Browns fan, and Ohio State fan should simplify that quite a bit. ![]() ![]() gd

Yeah, Brady and the Patriots are kind of like Manning and the Colts' kryptonite. However, the Colts have beaten them recently, so maybe that will help the Colts get over this game psychologically.
By the way, what happened to the Buckeyes in the National Championship? My wife is a University of Florida alumni, so naturally I am a Gator fan too now. Florida is utterly insane right now with their football and basketball program. They won both championships and their basketball team, if not already ranked #1 in the nation, they are really close to it. We had a Buckeye fan over for New Years and he was talking all kinds of smack about how Troy Smith was unstoppable, yadda, yadda, yadda, and then look what happens. Being a Browns fan is almost as hard as being a Skins fan. Good luck with that.

fabs, there's a lot of things I could point out, like how the defensive coaches just couldn't seem to call anything but an 8-man zone and rush 3 the entire game.
![]() BTW, being a browns fan doesn't leave much to watch during Jan. ![]() ![]() gd

gd,
I will agree that it looked like a coaching disaster for OSU. I was also wondering why they didn't try to run a little more than they actually did. Especially once they figured out that Smith wasn't doing too well throwing the ball. 80 something yards for an entire game is just horrible. As far as the defense they called, maybe they stuck with it because that is what worked for them during the year. I have no idea what they played during the year because the only time I watched OSU was when they played Michigan and that was only for the last 5 minutes of that game. It looks like you will be losing your quarterback Smith, your running back #25, and your best receiver #7, to the draft. Didn't Tressel win a National Championship at OSU? If so, you don't have too much to be disappointed with. Me, I prefer a playoff in college football, even if it is only 2 or 3 games deep. Heck, 2 games deep would have had UF, USC, Michigan, and OSU playing in it, and that would have been pretty good. I just cringe to think that Michigan might have played OSU for the National Championship and neither of them came close to deserving it. OSU got crushed by Florida and Michigan got crushed by USC.

fabs,
we are losing all of those guys, along with Gonzalez #11, and the only two returing starters from last year's defense. the good news is that the next qb in line is a pocket passer rather than a running qb first. It'll be nice not to have to sit through the growing pains of teaching another qb how to throw the football. ![]() gd
