What are the "Big Shows"

Hey all,

I'm working to put together a list of shows to which GSI might go next year.

SHOT Show is on it definitely, but I'm having some trouble figuring out what else to add. Can anyone help me out by telling me which additional shows are the major shows?

We're looking for shows that will attract people from surrounding states, like SHOT Show does.

Thanks,

GSG

Denver show attracts thousands....can't say exactly how many...Saturday it was a controlled shuffle...not walking!LOL
This is part of a Southwest Circuit. In 4 days, I'd guess perhaps 60k+ peiple.

Thanks Dan.

I've only been to Denver once. Might be fun to go again.

The NRA's annual convention is in St. Louis, MO this April. Can't remember the dates but I believe it's in the middle of the month. I'd like to go, but it depends on being in Africa at the time. grayghost

Greyghost,

I do have some information about the NRA annual meeting. I'm still mulling that one over. GSI is a member of the business alliance, and we're members, so it might beworth considering.

Where are you going in Africa?

Do you mean "goto" as in attend or as in exhibit?

Rocky,

Go to as in exhibit. Right now we're interested in making contacts.

Eventually we may just go to the shows to look for interesting new products, but that's in the future.

Thought so. Well then, some shows you might consider:

Safari Club International (the annual one was last week in Reno, regional ones at other times and places)

Wild Sheep Federation

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

Turkey Unlimited(?) Not sure of their exact name, but they hold a major annual.

The NA Convention (mentioned above)

If you want to attend the really big retail shows there are about a half dozen that should be on every exhibitors list:
Tulsa, the biggest show with near 5,000 tables.
Lexington, KY the 2nd largest show, about 3,000 tables
Dallas
Houston
Las Vegas

Wholesale: Shot Show, but, as an exhibitor, it is expensive, as you know.

If you like guns and gun stuff, the Tulsa show is a must. Make signs, like Dealers Wanted, take some demo products, set the drag light and watch for action.

Ed,

I've have been thinking about attending some retailer shows. Also, right now anywhere that is warm sounds really good.

I'm still learning about the industry, so input from people who've been to these shows is very helpful.

Thanks,

GSG
