I have watched in real life a moose being killed and eaten alive by a small pack(3) of wolves. It really isn't pretty and I would not want to watch it again. If they killed the animal and then ate it ..well it might not be so bad. But they eat it alive. A little hard for me to take. I'm glad there are wolves in the world but I really don't need them in my backyard. And they are in my backyard. One was howling this AM within 200 yds or so of the house.

They aren't the only ones that do that Skeet, it is a common predator prey way in the wild. Even domesticated dogs operate that way when killing sheep or deer. Nature is cruel at times. The wolves and moose have been one of the most interesting studies there is. study has been made since the 60s at least. Lots of moose, lots of wolves, few moose few, wolves basically.

Popplecop I know the ways of the world. I really do. Heck people are almost as bad as the predators(we are one ain't we?) I just don't want to watch 'em do it again. Here in Wyoming we have a bunch of wolves foisted on us by a bunch of tree hugging idiots back east. The wolves are running rampant in the deer elk and moose herds...er what moose? There are more than twice as many as the government claims and I know of one ranch that lost more than 45 cows to the introduced wolves and transplanted Park grizzlies. About 45,000 dollars gone plus the progeny of the cows lost. Government makes NO restitution. I have a wolf hanging behind my house on the ranch here at the edge of a small town. Try to keep it from eating the cows ...but the darn thing probably got the small whitetail buck I was feeding occassionally. We cannot kill the wolves(yeah right) even if they are eating your cows or your dogs or whatever. They are not scared of people at all. Had 8 come right through the yard in October. Dogs were barking(from the porch, no dummies they) the wolves all saw me and just stood there looking at the cows..figuring hummm..which one looks the tastiest. Chased em off before they got a cow but they are not scared. Coyotes are almost as bad. Had a friend in Montana lost 34 sheep in one evening to a pack of coyotes. Just killed 'em...didn't eat them. Glad there are wolves in the world. Just wish them tree hugging idiots back east had 'em in their backyards. Things would change then!! Uh HUH!!

We have the wolves also and have problems with the taking of domestic animals. You may have to look to the west for more tree huggers, not all live in the east. They are here, they will stay, but WE have to keep them in check. Mountain lions are moving back east also, but we won't blame anyone for this, it's nature, may be our wolves would have worked thier way west, who knows.
