Post Be wary of Hastings Movies

Las night I bought a used copy of Oceans 12 at hastings. Got it home and dropped it in the dvd player and guess what? The video was grainy the sound was horrible and you could see people standing and sitting in front of the screen! Thats right Hastings sold me a PIRATED movie! One recorded from a showing in the theater!

Just be very very wary I am going back to exchange it today after calling the manager last night. We shall see.

Hey GOB..what the heck is Hastings? And I wouldn't stop there. I'd take it to the BBB or whatever. If it is a store ...They knew it was pirated!

GOB, I seriously doubt (although I can't rule out the possibility) that Hastings would do something like that. I work at Blockbuster and we actually had a similar problem here a few months back. What had happened is someone had a pirated copy of Men In Black II and they rented the movie and did the ole' switcheroo. I'm actually the one who rented it and found out it was pirated. It is real easy to miss something like that when checking in movies, especially if its a plain or double sides disk, like a lot are.

Thats my theory anyways.

Oh they made good on it. I got every dime back because they didn't have another copy of the movie for sale. The manager tracked the movie back to the person that sold it to them while I was standing there (In my UPD Uniform) and found 9 other movies they still had on the shelf that person had sold them. Guess what? Not one of them was the real deal.

Anyway Wahnie, I am glad to see I am not the only old blockbuster alumni on here. I worked at one for a summer back in high school.
