New rifle
When doing the gun show this last weekend i took an as new in box(shot 1 time)Remington 700 Classic on trade. It is in a really neat caliber and i want to figure what scope to put on it. The caliber is 221 Rem Fireball. The scopes I have available right now are a Leupold VX II 3X9 with regular Duplex and a nice Nikon 4.5X14 . I am leaning to the Leupold 3X9 but am not sure what the effective range is with that caliber. I was thinking I didn't need the 4.5 X14. I'd like to get some other opinions. I also found a 12 in Contender bbl in 218 Bee. Wondering if it is wothwhile to have? What are your opinions on both??

That's pretty neat Skeet. Guess I've been in the dark ages, only Fireballs I knew were the Rem XP 100 pistols. If both scopes are 40mm don't think you can go wrong putting either on, tho you might want to save the 14x for something with a little more range. As far as the 218 Bee, personally I'd stay with the Fireball, though you know as well as I do that reloaders can get a little more oomph out of either. Unfortunately I don't have either caliber, so that's just my opinion or way of thinking on the two. Enjoy your new fireball, and be sure to shoot it at dusk or in the dark, beautiful -- at least out of the XP100!! Waidmannsheil, Dom.
