They are still very serious about the assault weapons ban in Md. The courts don't concern them. They want to control legislatures..in every state.

"Today on, of all radio stations, WBAL, I heard a commercial from the Brady Campaign and Maryland Cease Fire. Man was it a bunch of bull. They made it seem as if criminals were running around the streets spraying bullets with machineguns (75 rounds per minute according to them) at police officers. And that all across the United States every second a crime is commited with a machine gun bought in Maryland. Everyhting they said was an exageration, rhetoric or down right false. They also specifically are calling for people to call Sen. Brochin to pressure him to vote FOR the Anti Weapons bill they are promoting saying he is the key linch pin in the matter. Please give him a call or letter and tell him how proud you are of him for standing up for common snese, our rights and against their onslaught against him for opposing this worthless anti-gun bill."

md bills in committee include requiring registration and license of 4 wheelers, making md black bear a protected species-no hunting them, stop steel hold traps.

Okay, requiring registration on 4 wheelers is stupid and classifying MD black bear as a protected species is stupid too since a hunting season was just opened for it because there are too many. That was even in the Court system and the Court threw the antis out, which was good. The gov't here has nothing to do but talk about stupid stuff. My Lord, I cannot believe that this is the best that we have to elect. Then again, what sane person would want to run for office? I know I don't and I am mildly insane as it is.

You are not mildly insane. You are totally insane. Only sane thing you ever did was get married to a very smart very pretty lady!! Now she on the other hand may be mildly insane for saying ..yes!

The 4 wheeler thing is just another tax so they can fund another program for a problem area in the state. The bear hunt is an anti thing as is the leghold trap thing. They already made a separate license(more money) for trapping last year. Another tax, and spend thing ya see. All the money goes into the general fund and then they spend the money where they want to. Be ok if the registration on 4 wheelers was used in keeping up the state forests and marshes. But it'll go to pay for something in the inner city. Another hole that will never be filled. In fact that hole keeps getting larger all the time. Dey is allus lookin fer lawyers out cheer in Wyomin, Fabs.

If I could convince my entire family to move out to Wyoming, I would be there in a flash. With the money we would make on this townhouse, we could buy a pretty nice place out there and I could be really happy. However, that isn't going to happen because my parents would be torn between staying here with my brothers and sisters and moving to Wyoming. My mom keeps telling me that if I pick up and leave my dad will follow me where ever I go, but I don't want to do that to everybody else and I don't want to make my parents have to choose. So, I am stuck in this hell hole and I am trying to make the best of it. Maybe, just maybe, I might move to Virginia, but my siblings will be crying about that and I will be crying when I have to meet my Maryland clients or be in Court at 9:00 in the morning.

Depending on where in Wyoming you're looking, you'd have no trouble finding a place that would make the real estate market in Md. look cheap.

The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee voted on SB 43 today. By a vote of 5-5 for an unfavorable report, the Committee killed SB 43.

Kind of off topic, but I do not advise moving to Wyoming. I lived there for 8 years and I cannot stand the place, at least Big Horn County. Sure its small town and conservative, but the uber-small town crap is a joke. Everyone is a nosy busy-body who is into everyones business. Not only will you have to deal with the rumors, but your kids will hate the place. I'm telling yall, Alaska is where its at.

Yeah I advise against it to, but not for the same reason. Personally I like the small towns and if Mrs. Smith down thw road wants to talk about me, the way I look at it, is at least she's thinking about me, and that's more than you can say about big metro's. They are usually to busy to even notice who their neighbors are.

Wahnie. One day when you get older you'll see the errors of your ways. I lived in Alaska also bud. Ain't no different there than here. Fairbanks kinda sucks...although Alaska itself is great. At least in Wyoming they really do stuff for the kids. There is always something going on ...at least when they are in school. After the kids get out of school and maybe have to find a job...they become a little lost. Go live in a big city sometime. It really sucks. Some of my family is from Baltimore...Some are in NYC...I lived near a town of 250 people....so I know of what I speak.

GSP, I'm kinda with you. If ol Missus Smith is talkin about me she's leavin somebody else alone. Anywhere ya go people just have to gossip. Hell I dated a blind gal who lived in an apartment in the city. She didn't know many people in the area but the people in the apartments sure prattled on about her...and she about them. That gal was one smart(and hard) cookie! Too wild for me though. Burned the candle at both ends..and both ends were always hot. It is kinda nice to not have cars whizzin by all day and the loudest sound ya hear is the train going by...a couple of miles away. AAAAHHHHHH!

I don't know what you mean by Wyoming doing stuff for the kids. When I was there it was a horrible place to raise kids. I could preach all day about my first hand experiences as a child growing up in Wyoming. People are not treated as equals there.

I live in the Fairbanks area. I don't think it sucks in the least. Its small enough that its a safe place to live but not so big everyone is so impersonal. Thats why I especially like North Pole. We're just outside of Fairbanks so we get decent privacy, but we're not so far out in the boondocks that we don't have easy access to civilization.

I've lived in biggest cities before. I know what they are like and I'm glad I'm away from that. Most of my family lives back east in larger cities (Virginia Beach, Newark, NYC, Orlando, San Antonio).

Guys, people in the city talk about other people too, but generally it is about their circle of friends. So, it really doesn't matter. I have a circle of friends that would probably be in the 200 range, so I am sure that I have 200+ people talking about me and how poor I am because I only have a townhouse and my wife and I only drive $20,000 cars that are 9 and 4 years old. No matter where you go, people will talk about you behind your back. Everybody likes to think that somebody else's life is worse than theirs. Me, I talk about people that have tons of stuff and tons of debt and how miserable they are, but I leave the names out. Maybe I do it because I am jealous of all the stuff they have, but it is probably more in disbelief about how people are willing to work their lives away for stuff so that they can impress the guy next door. This requires them to be ever on the move looking for money and their life is way too busy to actual do important things like holding open a door, letting a person in during rush hour, saying hello. I have neighbors that are right next door to me. In fact, their townhouse is attached to mine. There are 6 townhouses on my row and another 6 directly across from me. Out of all those townhouse, I only know one single family and they are the only ones that talk to me. What is up with that picture?

If you were to live in a city, you would absolutely hate it, and Wyoming would look like heaven. With that said, most of us are never happy. Maybe I would move out to Wyoming and then start complaining about how far the grocery store is. Who knows.

The reason you don't want people moving to Wyoming is because you don't want it to get crowded. Am I right?

I'm sorry you have a recollection of a rough childhood...But then we have a tendency to remember the bad stuff more so than the good. Just being around here for the short time I have I see so many things that the kids get involved in. There are all kinds of sports meets etc that the kids are going to. Of course that presupposes that the parents are involved. Of course there are some problems..but every place has them. Most people's problems are of their own making. Mine too. North Pole is a kind of neat area. I worked for a time at the air base(Eielson). Then I also worked at Clear AFS down below Fairbanks. Kinda like Fabs said..You seem to make what you want of your life..we all do. Even as a kid in some ways
