Broke 90 in Sporting Clays

Have no idea why, just seemed a natural thing to do and it just happened. Three weeks ago shot a 92 with my Browning 525, 12ga. Returned the next week and shot a 92 with the same gun again.

I had entered a charity tournament the next weekend (my first for sporting clays) and decided to shoot the 12, to support the team. However, when the range master let it be known at the meeting, in a loud voice, that our team was not going to win anything in his tournament, I drove the cart back to the truck and got my 525, 20 ga gun, just to shoot for the fun. As luck would have it the guys were ribbing me pretty good, I missed the last pair on station twelve and ended up with a 90 with the 20ga gun! So out of 144 entries I ended up high 20ga on the course for the day. The team also won first place as we were all shooting sub gage guns, just for fun......

Last Saturday, a week after the tournament, I returned to the range with the 20ga gun and ended the round with a 95, the highest score I have ever shot.

I have had a great 4 weeks shooting sporting clays! More fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Yeah, it is nice when you are shooting good. My best score was 48 out of 50 and I missed the birds toward the end of the course. I was pissed at myself, yet happy that I shot that well anyway. I am hoping to shoot some clays some time soon, but it will probably have to be after tax season at the rate I am going.
