Beware the spider!!!!

Woke up early Thursday morning with what I thought was
a calf cramp....subsided and I went to work, came home that nite with chills n feaver. Friday progressed ok till my right foot n calf turned beet red. Called Kaiser home line and was told to take double Benadril and rub it with hydracortisone cream.......As swealing was not getting better, I went in today....antibiotics and two IV's of more antibiotics gotta go back tomorrow for more!
As I set here, laced in a dam foot boot so I can't move ankle.
I have no foggy as to what this was.......neither did the Doc.
Gang, be careful and be sure to spray ALL HVAC ducts.
Dan

I'd be willing to bet it was a Brown Recluse

A Brown Recluse bite will make itself obvious as the wound progresses. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. The bite wound will become red in a circular fashion. the skin will become necrotic and start to sluff off leaving a deep volcano looking hole. If you catch it in time, antibiotics can stop it. It took MONTHS for my wound to heal and I was at the Doc about 3 days after the initial suspected bite time.

You definitely got nailed by something nasty though!

Spiders are icky.

Seriously, hope you get healed up fine, that doesn't sound like any kinda fun I know of anyway, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

match the three in my head. Thanks for the wishes, got a guy working for me that has offered to amputate at a good price...

man, sounds like a rather rough bout with mother nature. Hope everything works out without gaining any holes, or losing any appendages. seriously, hope all goes well.

Sorry to hear about the bite Dan, as TD said Brown Recluse bites are nasty and results are apparent. I had an old cusomer that got bit just above hair line with similar results and heal time.

Hope you're feeling better and that it isn't from a BR.

Take care.

MD
