space shuttle

just watched the space shuttel lift off what a sight watched from live feed from nasa allways say a prayer for these people...

As a former insider, it's doubly -- no TREBLY -- more frightening than it is for a "civilian." I know 17 bazillion more things that can go wrong.

Thankfully, that was one of the smoothest and problem-free launches ever. Crisp salute to the crew.

I just read that they docked at the Space Station safely, but that some padding and heat shield (small pieces) fell off the Shuttle. I guess, officially at least, they're saying it's no big deal.

Still, I always worry until they're safely back on the ground. I remember vividly when Challenger blew up. It was awful.
