More garage sale finds

Couldn't help myself...again. Hit a garage sale and the guy had a bunch of reloading stuff..I mean a bunch. I ended up getting all the rest of the primers I'll need for the next 5 yrs..and all the bullets and powder he had too. Almost 4000 bullets of different sizes and 35 lb of powder all but 3 cans unopened.. Even got his early 70's Rockchucker press(like I need it). Asked if he had any guns to sell and he said sure so I bought some just because. He had a really neat little Savage M-24 22/410 that was in great shape as well as a BSA (Herter's U9) in 222 w/Redfield 4-12 scope. A Winchester M-24 SxS in 16 ga and also he had a Remington 700 Mountain Rifle in 280 with a nice Leupold Vx II compact 3x9. So I bought them. He also has a nice custom rifle in 35 Whelen made by Dale Goens. He wants 1600 bucks for it though. Has a couple of other things for sale but today while buying a tractor found a man with a nice 1895 Winchester in 30-40 Krag and a really nice Winchester M-42 410 pump gun as well as a couple of M-12 's..one 12 one 20. Nice if I can get the price right on those.
I also picked up a really nice ol Weaver K-6 with 40 mm Obj., a Sightron II in 3x9x 42 and a Leupold Vari X II 1x4 with Weaver rings...as well as 10 sets of RCBS dies and one set of Pacific dies....but they are all going on ebay I think. May put some of them in Swap and shop. Now I need to find a set of cultivators for my old Farmall A tractor.

Gonna try out the ol BSA 222 tomorrow. Want to see how it shoots

Garage sales stuff

Dan this darn state has more guns and shootin stuff per capita than Iraq. The one thing I really want is a S&W M57 41 mag. I ran up on 600 rds of factory ammo and 500 rds of factory brass a couple of yrs ago(cheap!) and I can't find a gun. And me being really cheap won't buy a new one....but I think I have a line on one.

GD357 I have been trying to find one of those ol 24's for so long at a reasonable price...and I finally did it. I almost bought one in Cabelas back east but it was 450 bucks!! And the one I just bought for 125 is in better condition. For some crazy reason they really go high in some places...especially in the east. nice little rabbit gun for certain. Out here though I would need one of those ol AK based shotguns in 410. So many rabbits here I'm gonna have to start shootin 'em soon. They can't leave the garden alone. I can guarantee you there are more than a 100 in the 6 acres right up around the house...and after shootin a few coyotes when they were grocery shoppin near the house they don't come back to eat 'em anymore.

The guy I got these from also has a Stevens M325 in 30-30 in really nice shape. Gonna try to get it for 150 or so. Nice little bolt gun and it has a receiver sight on it too.

skeet,

a couple of my friends had those M 24s in 22/.410. Absolutely the most versatile little gun you could possibly find. Same problems out here. All of them seem to be very overpriced. I can't believe that savage doesn't make them anymore. i guess I'll have to keep looking, and hope to get lucky. Great find!

I'll take ya shopping any ol time kiddo. Actually found a few other guns this week. Bought me a new in the box Browning 22 auto...Belgian too. Paid 300 bucks for it which I thought was fair. Still trying to find the good priced S&W 57 in 41 mag though. And a guy I know has a Browning hard case made just for that 22 auto. He bought it for 5 dollars at a yard sale. Gun was long gone though. Now I gotta find a way to talk him outta that.!! Course he's trying to talk me outta the rifle.
