When can we ship Mausers?

When is the ATF going to let M98's be shipped by individuals as sporting rifles? I found a M98 with a 7x57 sporter barrel, boy-oh-boy would that shoot nice in Oklahoma!

The Nazis are no longer in power, and the M98 is not a main battle weapon...........although I could think of worse rifles to take to Iraq.

I think you can apply for an import/export permit from the BATFE. best bet would be to go to their web site. They seem to have all the regulations posted there. maybe you can even E-mail them for specifics.

Thanks Paul......................I'll give them a try now. I think a 7x57 would fare well on the wide open areas in the SOONER State!

Jon

I believe a 7x57 will fare well anyplace. That and the 6,5x55 are my favorites.

I can't answer your question about the '98's. Sounds like you are also confused about the curio and antique nomemclature as I am. Some times it's a curio and antique and sometimes it ain't.

Take Paul's advice and read about it.

Are you contemplating coming back stateside?

Best wishes, Bill

Jon

Football and hunting seasons, sounds like a good reason for a sabbatical to me.

Course I don't think logically like most folks. I guess thats why I'm 70 and still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I keep trying different things.

I loved Germany but I felt like a traitor when I was there because my Grandparents and Parents worked so hard to get away from there. I can't imagine some of the things they had to do, even though they told me about some of them.

Best wishes, Bill
