Talking Altenative varmint hunting!!!!?????

Has anyone here ever tried alternative varmint hunting such as shooting flies or mosqitoes with a pellet gun, killing moths with tennis rackets, or blowing up antholes with ladyfingers. If so please tell me.

Living in Nevada, I did discover that if you don't put a pellet in a pellet gun, and hold the muzzle a few inches away from a mosquito on the ceiling, you can squash the mosquito flat with just the air. Kinda hard on the mechanism, though.

Who HASN'T put firecrackers into an ant colony??? Of course, when I was that age, firecrackers were much more readily available.

Oh yeah!! Sometimes in deer camp if it's a warm October we shoot grasshoppers with a .22 cal pellet pistol. We call it "Sporting Hoppers."
BTW, minihuntur, welcome to Hunt Chat.

.22 works for most varmints, moths included, by the way, I use air to squash them too!

Did it all, (the flies and grasshoppers) except we used Blackcats on crayfish holes.
A Sheridan pellet gun, minus a pellet, will drive flies through a door sceen from about a foot, and rubber band guns were used more then bb guns around the house.
We had a large grocery store near by that dumped their old produce out in a field in back. We kids would shoot rats and mice off it every chance we got.

Ummm, I can unequivocally say . . . Yes. My thing was bees/hornets, since I was allergic to them, first thing I grabbed, mostly a pellet gun, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

When I was a kid we used to shoot dragonflys in our pond when they landed on the grass, good practice really.

Not a bad idea now for practice when you're bored. I have shot flys with my son's airsoft, but the wife gets tired of the yellow pellets all over the place.

I gave it up because finding a good taxidermist was just getting to be a pain.

I'm waiting for a varmint season on Mall Geese.
I'm thinking a 22-250 should work nicely.
