How many geese?

So who went goose/dove hunting yesterday? And how did you do? I did not go, did not even go deer hunting. Heck I have not even gotten my hunting license

Went dove hunting yesterday and killed my limit (i.e., 12) even though they weren't flying very well. Ended up using 28 shells to do it, so I was shooting fairly decent I guess.

As far as I am concerned, it is still too warm to be sitting in a blind and/or shooting geese. I cannot imagine having to deal with dressing out so many birds if we happened to have a good day. It would take so long I wouldn't even be able to dove hunt in the afternoon.

We hunted dove Sept 1st and 2nd in Indiana. We all limited out (15) the first day, and the second we came close. I'm heading up to Northern Michigan Friday to goose hunt.

to hell with today?
yes that was my words, so i didnt set an alarm, however i would have set it for 5. i woke to the chime of the cuckoo down stairs. so i got up and went at 5. my grass strip that i hunted saturday, now has cut corn to one side, so i set up half in grass half in corn. i used standing corn and a treeline behind me to limit where the birds could land. 7 oclock i hear a goose calling and i called back and i could tell he turned my way. so i closed the shell lid and just made some grumbles on the call. i was watching front waiting for him to circle down wind. well all of a sudden i hear many as in a lot of geese coming down hard behind me so i look left and one is standing 5 foot away there is about 75 in all coming down, when i flipped up one was so close on top of me i could have caught him, he back pedaled and i picked out a pair to my right, smashed them, and then came back to the one that was close now that he got out a bit further. 3 shots 3 huge geese. never saw another goose. good day, just wish they would have came in small bunches

Shooting a big bunch like that sucks. I can remember when we had 500+ geese circling us and one of my friends decided to sky bust them. I wanted to strangle him. Lucky for him, he wasn't right next to me.

Me, I prefer groups of 10 or less, but at this point I would take any goose that comes along.

for sure fabs if this was november that bunch would have traveled on, but from what i have seen recently, with the few geese that are flying nothing that came by was going away without some steel, on the optomistic side, i watched for the first 45 mins, deer after deer cut this one corner of cemetary property and trickle into the woods where i hunt about 15 deer in total. if they are still doing this end of next week, some body will catch a muzzy broadhead

Good job guys. I really need to get my butt in gear and get my lisc. and get out there . Doubt I will get in on any geese, they have just started to cut the corn ,or what they are calling corn, been a terrible year for the farmers. So the fields I can hunt still have standing corn or beans. But my wife is getting on me to get some deer meat in the freezer. We are out, and she is craving some good deer steaks.
