She gets her first ever game...and it's a bear!!!

Just over a month ago our neice fired a high powered rifle for the very first time, and the girl is a deadly shot too. She's never hunted but after staying with us last summer and for part of the bear hunt she decided she wanted to hunt. Before she came down for the summer she told us she wasn't going home til she got a bear. Well....

I think I can get this story pretty accurate, I've heard it a few times over the last couple hours. lol

My hubby and Ang got out to the stand and within an hour she was snoozin away. Must be nice to be able to sleep like that Around 7:30ish hubby saw a bear come in to the bait so he pssted, and youwho'd then got up and shook the tree (he was under it) and finally started pullin on the rope to wake her up. When she finally got the hint he told her there was a bear coming in and she's like "where?". lol

Low and behold there were two of them. A pair of last year's twins who were still hangin together. One was smaller than the other so she waited for the larger of the two to go to the bait. It was standing on it's hind legs trying to grab the bag (he was a little short on the bottom end) and when he turned broadside she pegged him. He dropped and ran off a little ways, while the other twin stuck around the bait. It didn't go far though, about 40ish yards away he dropped and that's where he stayed.

Another for the hundred pound club and another first bear for my Win6.5.
15 years old and her first ever hunt she gets her first bear. Whooohoooo!!!!!

Another great season and more awesome memories. It doesn't get better than that.

Great pic and great story. Me, I use a safety harness when deer hunting out of a tree stand because I fall asleep a lot in them. Taht stuff tends to happen since I get very little sleep most of the time, especially during hunting season.

I dunno how she can sleep up there, she uses a climbing stand. We do have harnesses but hubby and all his wisdom bought all new ones, sight unseen. He believed the guy when he was told that they are all adjustable, pft not! I can put one on if I'm wearing a t-shirt but once I get a coat on it's useless. lol
