Need some help
Looking through my fathers old footlocker and found this and i have no idea what it is. hopefully the picture will attach and some one can tell me what it is, thanks

I hard a hard time just FINDING the thing in the center of that huge photo.
I presume you are asking about the object in the center of the topo map, and not about the map, right? Perhaps I could tell better if you'd post a clear closeup or two from different angles with some size reference (like a ruler).

Sorry about the size it took me an hour to get it small enough to send. here is another one i hope that it is better than the last one. the object is 3 inches long and in this shot it is sitting on end. it is hollowed out on the inside but there are no threads on the inside it kind of looks like a powder measure but has those 2 knurled arms on the sides. i cant stand it on end because as you might be able to see in the picture there is a raised knob on the end . i have some other pictures i will send if this next one gets down small enough. thanks
