Exclamation Score!

Took this nice 4 x 4 on the first day of 1st Rifle! I hunted on benches at 9500' where the quakies meet dark timber. Saw 5 cows in 2 different groups before he appeared. It was around 4:30 pm, he was walking a well-worn game trail over a couple of possible wallows / waterholes. It started snowing as soon as I started field dressing him. Quartered it that eve - took us 2 days to get it off the mountain with backpack frames since the spike camp was 1 mile and 1000' below and the truck another mile and about 600' below that. Very rugged terrain. No ATVs (yeah!), no horses. Could prob get a mule in there but didn't see any. Only heard 2 other hunters. Not bad for public land. 2 bulls walked next to our camp 2 days later. Hope you have luck as well!

Mike

Great job Mike!

Glad your hunt was successful. What part of the RNF were you in?
