Steel Shot
Any one got any steel shot recipes? I've got a TC, New Englander 12 gage that needs to go waterfoul hunting this year.

That was a waste of time, things have changed over there.
Here's what i'm thinking about. I have some Winchester Drylok 2 3/4 #2s. I'll take the shot and wads and load them with 2 over powder cards and one over shot wad. I'll start off with 85 gr tripple 7 and work up to 100 gr. This is for 1 1/8 oz steel.

I've never heard of much good using steel shot in muzzleloaders (velocity too low, ect), but I've never tried it myself, so I can't confirm or deny this.
However, I did run across this....hopefully it will be of some help. http://www.ilstu.edu/~taparme/steel.htm

That's an interesting article. I know, with steel velocity is the important component. I'll work up my load until I get good penetration at 35 to 40 yards. The shot cups I have are tight so I'll probably have trouble getting them seated. I've got a dowel rod that I'll premark at the various stages of the loading procedure.
Well, if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

Actually its interesting that you mention that for it shows how people judge people by their books. You probably can't, for example, tell me how I came by rattus58.
You probably didn't read any of the articles either. You probably don't know either, for example anything about what I hunt with, and you probably didn't do anything to help stop the lead free hunting that they passed in California, meaning you're hunting there with sabots with COPPER/BRASS bullets in condor country. |

I don't need to check any further the inline on the front page says enough for me.
