Making new friends

this morning dawned warm and with blue bird skies, a fella was coming in who said he wasnt hunting just had his video camera, well he had a pretty tricked out camera all camo'd and all. we first had a flock of mallards get dusted perfectly on film, my other buddy left, so he picked up my friends gun just in time for one of the most honest to goodness goose flights i have seen all the while the temp was near 50. it was so good that i passed on birds because i could tell they didnt have leg bands. lots of good filming, shooting and of course my calling all on film. the last bird i shot was funny, i was feeling lucky i picked one out of a group 60 yds up, smoked it and it came falling straight at me from that height. now imagine my 5'6 self in knee deep mud, running through this pond to get away from this falling resident goose. i seriously was scared at the thought of getting that bird on my head. he died in my boot prints, great photo op.
this year i have met two different fellas in the dark. both times i have had a great time. gives me hope for the rest of my hunting brethren

Yep, it really is nice to meet new, nice, people. I would guess that most of these people, outside of hunting, are also good people. Just once in a while I run into the bad guys.

See if you can get a copy of that video. I wouldn't mind taking a look at it.

since that morn, i have hunted with this guy about a dozen times, and by now the goose hunting footage has really piled up high, not sure how many death shots, but we cooked a lot of birds while the camera was rolling so if i can get a copy i will send it down, storms moving in, lacking the motivation to get out of bed tomorrow

Sounds good. Hope you can find the time to make a copy. By the way, I still have those silhouette decoys in the garage that you sent me a year or two ago. I just can never find the time to try and copy them.

Glad to hear that you are having a great season. Me, I haven't even been out goose hunting yet.
