Remington buys Marlin!

I've just read that Remington firearms has bought Marlin firearms.

What is the world coming to? I hope that it makes things better for both makers, but that remains to be seen.

Remington buys Marlin??

Heard this about 3 months ago. Rem didn't buy Marlin though. It was the Holding company that owns Remington and Bushmaster Firearms. Hopefully they will all do ok... But I have grave misgivings about the whole deal. Holding companies are usually about selling off things and making money out of the acquisition...not operating companies. BTW... HAve ya seen that Remington now has an AR platform?? Guess we'll see what perspires errrr transpires in the near future!

Wow, I can see it now: a lever-action AR-15 chambered in 7 SAUM.

Geewillikers, it makes my heart go piddy-pat!

Here's the deal. When you buy a Chrysler product depending on the make and model, you'll get a certificate for one of the following: Rem., Bushmaster, Marlin or a New England firearm. That way everything stays within the holding co., they may also own GMAC Finance, so if you use that credit card you should get a discount on one of the above firearms.

Has anyone heard anything on that new AR by Remington or fired one. I would love to test it out on some coyotes.

I did not shoot the new AR package but did have a go at the new tactical pump 760 series. Since i own a wingmaster, a 760 and a 7600 it was real easy to feel comforrtable with it and it functioned rock solid. it was just wearing iron sights so we would just go outside and bark off a 20 round mag and come in and get warm.

I don't know if i am a fan or not. Need to go to a range.

I'm invited to "Range Day" for SHOT Show, where they trot out all the new goodies and let writers blast away with them. I don't know what guns will be there, or even which manufacturers, but I'll report back here afterwards.

Will there be any difference between the Rem. AR and the Bushmaster AR other than name?
