Season's End Refit.

Last Saturday at dark ended the muzzleloader deer season here in PA.

Every year I go through a year end refit for the next season. I shake out the possibles bags, sort the gear, toss out the trash and reassemble the possibles bags kit.

I wipe out the ML bores, remove the locks and clean and oil them and put a coat of boiled linseed oil in and out on the stocks. After the stocks dry, I reassemble the arms and put them on the rack for another year of shooting. Every year the stocks take on a nicer rich patina.

The next nice day, I will fire up the Coleman stove and cast up more round ball and maxis for 2008. I hope all other Longhunters give their venerable arms the season's end refit they deserve.

Adam
