Michigan elk hunts

I have been looking into elk hunts here in MI. anyone have any stats on tag draws and public land hunts how hard are tags to draw are there decent tracts to hunt ect. ect.
I just wanted to hear from someone who has done it if you are out there. Thanks

My sons ex-father in law hunted two years ago and shot a 7x7 if I remember right, a very big bull that made the papers. I`ve also talked to a couple guys at work that hunted in the past and were successful. None hunted public lands that I know of. They used farmers as guides and were helped by the DNR in finding land access I believe. The odds get better the more often you enter the draw.

The odds of drawing a tag at any time are like the loto the odds are better in drawing a ky tag or a main moose tag.
That being said i still file every year been doing it for 24 years.
