S&W internal locks

bought a new smith 642 the other day, a glock in a polo shirt and a pair of khakis was not cutting it. love carrying this piece i seriously forget its presence. bit much to hang on to with +P's .how ever after buying ordering i started to research on the gun and found a lot of people flipping out about internal locks like they have on the taurus, one guy went as far as to say that it can be possible that the lock can shoot itself into the locked position. any thoughts? its a smith so i figure they are on top of it

kt,

You ask a great question about internal locks. I prefer to own the OLD Smiths without the locking gizmo. Can the gun "shoot itself into locked position?" Maybe. It is just one more mechanical device that I prefer to do without.

I like revolvers and they make up the bulk of my collection. Good shooting.

Adam

Go over to the S&W forum. They have a sticky there on Lock failures. http://www.smith-wessonforum.com/

You will find enough information to make your brain explode.

Best wishes, Bill
