Old cans of Goex from 1980

Stumbled across these old cans of Goex today...can tops were screwed on good and tight, powder appears to be in perfect condition...made September 11, 1980 at the Belin plant in Moosic, PA. Granulations seem an eyelash finer than today’s Goex 2F and 3F.

Goex

Good find Roundball. Hope ya got it cheap too. When I shot that black stuff I used to use that Goex. Found an orange can of ICI (British) 2f in my powder mag. Brought it from Md in the mags and haven't had a need to get into them till 3 days ago. Just as an aside...I acquired a Civil War Springfield quite a few years ago. Had 8 loads in the bbl. The hammer must have been snapped 100's if not 1000's of times. Used by kids for yrs playing around. All the powder was good and fired just fine in my T-C Hawken. It was kinda coarse though. I was also given a Colt Baby Dragoon many years ago and when I got it it was loaded..no caps though. Still have the balls somewhere around here. Surprisingly the nipples were in fine shape...NO KIDS
BTW How much is Black powder these days?? Can ya still buy a 25 lb keg?? I used to sell quite few of them evey year.

I got all three for $20...the old cans are of more interest to me than the powder itself...haven't made those cans for years and years...plus the Belin plant has long since burned down...the only Goex plant left in the US now in the one down in LA.

I've never bought a "keg".....I buy it by the case of 25 one pound cans...usually get 24 cans of 3F and 1 can of 4F...delivered price of my last case fall of last year worked out to $10.90/can to my front porch.
