Your favorite pies?

My wife, bless her, made me a home made pumpkin pie the other day. I was in hog heaven. Of course it got me to thinkin about all the other pies I love (not much of a cake person I have to say).

In order of favorite pies

1. Sweet Potato Pie - Hard to find a good one anymore, guess I gotta get momma to teach me how to make them.

2. Pumpkin pie. - Easy on the spice, heavy on the pumpkin.

3. Key lime pie - yep I like me a key lime pie made fresh. Not much on storebought ones.

4. latticework apple pie - yep latticework. Don't like those smooth topped things with the little slits in them.

5. dutch apple pie (with crumbles) - its nice for a change, but I don't like em as well as latticework.

6. buttermilk pie - gotta be just right or I won't eat it. But if it is just right I like it.

7. berry pie - kinda like a minature dewberry cobler.

Thats a few.

Course I never did meet too many pies I didn't get along with, at least as long as there ain't a baked on merrange on it. Can't stand that stugg.

I really like pies. A traditional pie made well is a treat in itself.

Perhaps my favorite is rhubarb pie made with a small amount of sugar so that its good and sour.

Of course rhubarb is a springtime plant.

Raspberry (made one last year with raspberries we grew ourselves), apple, and pumpkin.
And while not really a "pie", I like apple crisp as well.

My favorite pie is round. My favorite cobbler is square and rectangle. If it has some type of fruit and a crust, I love'em.

Not a lot of groceries get past me.
