cutting brass?
My new 700 VTR 223 (no I have not gotten to fire it yet) is cutting grooves in the brass as I cycle rounds through it. I would venture to say that the grooves are deep enough to be an issue for reloading. It appears that the edges of the mag well are just about sharp enough to cut free hanging silk. Should I send the gun to remmington and have them fix it or should I just touch it up with a fine file myself?
Opinions? Also has anybody else ever experienced this? GoodOlBoy

I would suspect if you gunsmith it yourself it would void any warrenty you may have. I's send it back.

Yeah basically it is both the whole right edge and left edge of the mag well. Probably going to use a ceramic sharpening stone just to remove the sharp off of the edge.
It just threw me because I have never seen a rifle do this. GoodOlBoy

stoning helped a little, running 50 steel cases through it helped some more. Now it only really badly cuts the top two if I fill the Mag. The rest have just streaks on them. Gotta get me some more Wolf so I can use them to finish working it down.
