Top of the Gene Pool
Came out at 0500 this morning to 6" of fresh snow. In my drive way were 3 JSD black n whites. They had been checking a number of car entries in the neighborhood. In this snow, they had been tracking the alleged perp....tracks belonged to a 20 year old lad across the street...led straight to his front door!
SO couldn't get anyone to answer the door so we chatted for a while while they took pics of tracks and entrance. That's when I found out about about the deal.......guys, this is not a low life area....LOCK your doors n vehicles. So far, I don't know what the outcome was....waited for them to finish pics before I backed out and ruined em. Dang good bunch of officers. Real brillant...tracks in fresh snow and then go home................. Dan

My parents lived in a subdivision years ago where the post man walked up to the house to deliver, the boxes were on the house fronts, not at the road.
It was this time of year, and a guy that ran out of his house and grabbed a couple mail bags from the little truck the mailman parked at the corner and dashed back inside. The mailman and a neighbor saw the whole thing and called the boys in blue. Same deal, snow on the ground, plus witnessess. They found the fool looking for money in Christmas cards in his house when they arrived. Some people are beyond stupid...

The local community newspaper that comes out in my town once a month listed no less than seven car break-ins- all less than a couple of miles from my house.
I added a deadbolt to my garage door and told the wife to ensure that she either stash or preferrably, take her GPS with her when she is not in the vehicle. You absolutely cannot leave anything of value out in the open in a vehicle or fail to lock your vehicle overnight anymore. With the current economy, I would expect this type of criminal activity to only escalate unfortunately. |
