.54 T/C Hawken

I was in a gun shop last week and saw a T/C Hawken flintlock in .54 caliber sitting on the used gun rack. The shop owner sold it to me real cheap even though it was like new. I have never seen the T/C Hawkem in .54 caliber listed as a catalog item. I knew they made .54 barrels beacause T/C replaced a Renegade barrel with a .54 Hawken barrel a few years ago. The local gun shop guys are old timers and they say the .54 Hawken came out of the T/C Custom Shop as a special order item. No matter, I got it cheap and love it. Take care...

Sounds like a great deal.

Actually, T/C Hawkens have been offered in .45/.50/.54 calibers for decades in both cap and flint...in both standard 28" x 1:48" twist barrels, and in longer 30-31" x 1:66" round ball twist barrels.
Then the .58cal was added to the Hawken line 10-15 years ago but only in the .28" x 1:48" barrel.

I've accumulated a number of T/C Hawkens in .45/.50/.54cal, all barrel lengths and configurations over the past 18 years or so...excellent rifles for the money, and with a real lifetime warranty that is second to none.

As TC began to focus on the inline market during the 90's, they began discontinuing many of their traditional style muzzleloaders, and began moving what was left into their store front operation called Fox Ridge (The Fox Ridge Store) and began dropping them from their normal TC catalog.
