New 22 I want Ruger 10/22RB-CIII
Caliber: .22 LR

Well I checked around and thats about as good as it gets on that baby. Wow surprised the heck outa me. Looks like I am finally gonna break down and get me a good old faishioned 10/22 in the carbine style.

Get the cheapest one you can find and then pour on the aftermarket goodies. I can remember when 10/22s sold for $50 new, but that was a while ago.
I found one in a plowed field once, clearly having been run over by the plows. The only salvageable parts were the receiver and bolt. In the end, I spent more on parts than a new one would've cost me, but I have a free 10/22!!!

I don't think I paid more than $200 for mine 8 years ago. I did exactly what Rocky is advising. I bought a cheap 10/22 brand new just for the receiver. Everything got replaced after that. I put the following on the gun:
Hogue overmolded stock Volquartsen trigger release Extended mag release Scope rings with a Burris 3-9x on it Butler Creek carbon fiber barrel that was junk and has since been replaced with a Green Mountain barrel Harris bipod I love shooting this gun, but have yet to kill anything with it.

Yeah looks like I am gonna go pickup the carbine today good Lord willin and the creeks dont rise. I will worry about it after that. Thing is I wanna keep iron sights on it. Squirrel huntin with a scope on cat squirrels aint my cup of tea.

Do consider getting the aperture sight set from Williams. It screws right on, and includes a higher front sight with a fiber optic bead. Much more accurate and faster than what comes on them. Brownells lists them.
The one I found had a scope on it, but scope and mount had been ripped off, ruining the screw holes in the receiver. I ended up gluing an incorrect aperture sight to the receiver, and cobbling up a front sight. Buying the correct one would be a whole lot better.

I don't remeber the 50 dollar 10-22's I do remember in the early fall a kid could get one of the standard ones for $89 and normally they were $119.
