Ruger 77 6.5 swede question
I have a Ruger model 77 in 6.5 swede and am looking into buying a stock on an online auction for it. Problem is I don't know if this thing is a long or short action, I don't have any other 77's to compare it to. I think it is a long action but am not 100% certain. Any help appreciated

Measure the mag box and see how long of a cartridge will fit. A short action "NORMALLY" will have a box that measures less then 2.9", Remington, and Kimber use this size. Winchester though conciders a 3.15" as a short action magazine. I`m not sure which size Ruger uses. The Swede will fit a short action Winchester, but it won`t fit in a short action Remington. I have a strong feeling Ruger makes one size action and that action is a long one, but don`t take that to the bank. The Ultra Light and International models use their own stock and are not interchangable with other M77s I`m told. You might call or E-mail Ruger CS and ask what you need.
