Remington buys Dakota Arms
I have worked a few of my off days for Remington Arms at the Dakota Arms plant in Sturgis. We are doing 24 hour security on the plant during the buy out by Remington. This should be a good deal for both companys and Remington was very impressed with the quality and workman ship at the Sturgis plant.

Perhaps, and but,
Remington has a history of messing with stuff and fudging up the process. I really wonder if you will ever see another Dakota or if you will just see these folks take over the operations of the "Custom Shop" or some such operation. Best, Ed

I would bet that it will end up in the Custom Shop. JMO

There was not many options for Dakota Arms and I think it will be a good deal for both of them from what I have heard so far.

Well, I suspect my Dakota is an antique without a home at this point. I doubt that the value has been enhanced very much.
But that is what happens when you hire a CEO to fly you to the moon and the magic carpet crashes upon being over loaded with red ink, just after the CEO gives the farm away and then goes on several safaris to drown his sorrow, all on company money. ![]() Best, Ed

Wonder if the people at Zastava think it is a good deal?

Rapier if you think the value of this thing went down I would gladly take it off your hands. Production is going stonger then ever and one of the workers I talked with said the gun he is doing some engraving work on should go for $10,000 and the guy ordered three of them.
The problem with this company was the old CEO did exactly that and at least now the workers get paid with a Good check.

My Dakota Sport was an antique when it was made. Just or only 73 made as I understand the tale of woe. Sounds like I best hang on to this one; a grade IV with 32 inch barrels in 12ga. It looks a bit like a Perazzi O/U and also had a MSR at about $10k by coincidence.
![]() Best, Ed PS Before I spent the big bucks on a Dakota I checked, is how I knew about the CEO. Not good.... he was and may now still be head of Zoli USA.

I can only hope and pray that they make the Dakota #10 at a reasonable price. Fat chance of that happening. i cannot see why they can't bring out a plain model with decent wood and checkering and keep the price under two grand.
