New England
Westinghouse

I assume rifle is chambered 7.62 x 54R
Thanks for any help you might offer.

Contract rifle from WWI

During WWI, New England Westinghouse and Remington made Model 1891 Mosin Nagant rifles for the Czarist government in Russia. Most never left the U.S. because of the revolution in Russia. Some were used to train U.S. soldiers when we entered WWI. The rifle is a 7.62X54mm. If it has a 19 1/2" barrel, someone cut it down. Hope this helps. All the best...

Thanks for info, this rifle appears to be all original. However after closer inspection it does look like the barrel has been shortened.
