Spring Hunts

One of these days I hope to expand my days afield. I'd like to find something good to hunt in the springtime. What's best? Bear? Turkey? Where's the best place to go in the west - or at least in the lower 48?

Thanks for the warning Multibeard. I'd like to try turkey hunting in the spring. I don't have any friends into it so I'll have to find where to go, how to call them, etc. on my own. I tried spring bear hunting in New Brunswick, Canada a few years back. Only one out of four hunters scored and it was a small bear. Anyway, spring turkey sounds pretty good.

If you want to shoot all you can try for feral hog in the East Texas area. No limit on public land, or most ranchers lands. Guided ranches usually put a limit/trophy fee BS.
