Military Surplus Rifle Matches.
A nearby gun club holds monthly military rifle cast bullet matches. It is a fun shoot that costs $5 to enter and fire 20 rounds at 100 yards; 5 standing, 5 bench and 10 prone. The guys bring out Swiss, Swede, American, British, French and Canadian rifles.
A plan is taking shape to allow any ammunition which will bring the Garands, G43s, Hakims, etc., to the firing line. The plan calls for us to "Shoot 'em before we lose 'em." A 25 yard handgun match, any ammo, is also in the works. Who else patricipates in military surplus matches? Adam

Oklahoma has been doing that for several years.

Dog Yeller,
Thanks for the link. I see all shooting is done from the bench in OK. We use our 5 rounds standing as the tie breaker. Adam

It depends
My club holds NRA Approved Tournaments using military rifles and jacketed ammo. The cast bullet match sounds interesting. However, I doubt we could round up enough folks who shoot cast bullets in military rifles to hold a match. Take care...

We have a club here that holds military matches monthly I believe, Wonderful range can shoot out to 1200 yards. They hold black powder cartridge 1000 yd. shoot at least once a year, that's something to watch and only iron sights allowed, I don't have anything with a tang sight that will go the distance.
