Upcomeing 2009 Hunting Seasons.

Could not stand it anymore, no one had made a comment on this site since April. I for one am looking forward to grouse, woodcock, and waterfowl seasons opening. Early goose is Sept. 1st, but I don't like goose hunting in 80 degree weather, if it's cool will be out. Anyone else looking forward to this fall and if so what is your favorite seasons?

I am looking forward to the season as well.. bow starts here sept 1st... I am gone the second week of sept for a week hunting elk for the first time. Then back home for the rest of sept chasing deer with the bow. Oct sees the start of MZ season, and also have a moose tag, hmm.. what to do... nov sees some more deer hunting, and that goes into mid dec. Oh, and after that, coyotes if the snow is not too deep, and then bear again in the spring.

I am going to try to do more grouse hunting with the lab this Fall. I do plan to do the MI youth deer hunt with my son in the U.P. and later a deer hunt in IL. I may also try some U.P. ML hunting in Dec.

Don't plan on deer hunting here in MI this year....sighted in my slug gun, but lately it's just a lesson in frustration and not worth the effort.
I plan on hunting squirrels after the season opens mid Sept....also, I'm with popplecop; hunting geese in 80 degree weather is not fun....I'll probably be fishing instead.
Hope to do some night time predator hunting, and two weeks off in Nov. that I will spend chasing waterfowl.

I plan to be in the U.P. with the son for the youth deer hunt. I'll take a few shotguns also so we can look for a grouse. Of course a few camp duties call too. I take grouse hunting low key, meaning I just like to explore new areas. I have a remote area in mind I want to check out for beaver dams & trout fishing.

The partner helped 2 guys tag a bear, neither were real monsters, #200 & #250. It was the 1st for each, one dropped in the pile & the other took part of that night & a few hours the next day to recover. I will be in the U.P. several times this Fall but just got my permits for another IL deer hunt in Nov. I miss some of my usual U.P. deer locations & plan to get back before long. It's just this IL hunt has been offered the last few years & it's hard to turn down. I'll get the Knight M-L tuned up again.
