Thumbs up Wanna learn a new language?

Get Rosetta Stone. I'm here in Korea and went to our library for when they got the licenses. It's free for me but well worth whatever it costs. I'm learning German right now and I can't believe how easy it is. I still think in English but am starting to understand hearing and reading German. It's kinda freaky. I was watching a movie the other day and saw a sign in German and immediately know what it said. I didn't even have to think about it. I saw it in German but read it in English; it was a little freaky but pretty freakin cool. Anyway, just had to give a little plug. Gotta get back to my lessons.

Sounds good, way it's going think I'll have to learn Spanish. See you are in Chosen the Land of the Morning Calm, Over 50+ years ago I served there too, don't think I'd reconize it any more.

You might be surprised; some of the buildings we work out of look like they're left over from the war. Sure enough some of the housing off base is. It's not too bad here though. I've met a bunch of great friends and we keep pretty busy. We work hard and play hard. Although, things are a little tense here lately. Learning a language is a much better way to pass the time and take your mind off things than the way a lot of folks here do. Like I said, it's almost freaky how easy you learn with this program. I was sitting here a week ago thinking it must be a joke. Then I watched that movie and everything clicked. Very cool

Tater,

Best of luck in learning German. I studied it for five years in college and went to Germany and Austria to try out my second language. The coolest thing was in Munich I walked up to a German, asked him a question auf Deutsch and he replied in kind. We both understood each other.

I spent 10 days in Austria and rarely spoke English the whole time. All the younger generation there learn English in school and are pretty fluent in English and like to try out their skills on Americans.
