Nothing 'planned', per se.....I would like to do more predator hunting this winter, but since one of my coworkers gave notice the other day, that means more time 'on call' and less time in the woods.
I do plan on doing some trapping next fall....hope to catch some coon, muskrats, and canines. Never trapped before in earnest.....I've half heartedly set a few while deer hunting (and not knowing really what I was doing)...don't intend to do it for profit, but if there is any profit, it'll go towards my daughters college tuition.

longshot

was hoping to go back out west for elk this year. Not likely to happen now with the state of the economy here and the precarious nature of my job.
I'm still planning to get "up north" to hunt our feral hogs and will be tagging along on a coon hunt soon.

I have 2 out of state hunts planned for 2010 although, they've been planned for the better part of 3 years. In June I'm heading to Alaska for coastal bear (booked 3 years ago) and because we didn't draw our unit in Wyoming for antelope last year we'll be heading out there in the fall. It's going to be a busy year!

Thinking about heading up to Anticosta Island this year. Lot of deer although not huge animals. Usually a slam dunk to fill both tags.

Time permitting this year I would like to do a bear bait in Maine. Have never hunted over bait before and would like to try it. Being a do it youselfer I would like to do the scouting and baiting.

Hunts in 2010

I plan to go on two pheasant hunts this fall with several good friends. Been going to the same place for 25 years. It is a regulated shooting ground with lots of birds and really good English Springer Spaniels. I enjoy deer hunting, but rarely see any deer during the season. All the best...

I've got several invitations I'd like to be able to make, so here's to hoping all goes according to plan.

I've been invited to South Dakota for muleys/whitetails and pronghorn. I was planning on going this year, but it just didn't work out. Bummer too, because they had a great season from the pictures they sent.

Also, I'm hoping to get back up to the U.P. this fall. Very few big antlers, but always a great experience. Some of my best friends hunt there, and a few more live in the area. It's my favorite hunt every year. And I hate the years I miss out.

Got an open invitation to Colorado for muleys (Denver area) and Arizona for deer - IF I can get a tag. Not going to happen this fall, but hopefully soon...

Last year this time I did not have a job, but I am working in a shop now with steady overtime. I want to head west this fall again, but now I don't have much for vacation, and almost 8 months without a job eats into the hunting funds. A quick trip to WY for antelope may fit into October, still have plans for some other hunts some time.

No real plans this year, not until I know my draws, hopefully will get my antelope draw for here this fall. After drawing 2 hard to get tags last fall (either sex moose 1:50 chance & either sex elk 1:150 chance) I will be happy with it.

Although I am in the start of planning with a friend for Africa in 2012

I am just gonna hunt around the house again, if this winter is any indication looks like we may finally have another good year for swamp bunnies comming. Little squirrel, little rabbit, maybe a deer, or hog or three. . . . . may give up on the bird huntin I rarely ever get to go anymore. I am plannin on doing a WHOLE LOT more finishing this year though.
