It`s a nice hike between the upper and lower falls. Did you try it or just visit the falls? I tried to make it up that way often when I was a bit younger.
I had a uncle that belonged to a hunt camp on the river from the late30s/early40s- the 90s. He fished more then hunted in later years, claimed it held some great pike and musky. I never put a line in it though.

I have been all over the falls I have never fished the river but do no guys the do they catch rather large musky amd pike
