Question Brass tacks?

I've been toying with the idea of putting some brass tacks on my Hawken, just to make it look a little more "mountain manish" & give it a little personal touch. I found some 'brass' tacks at the local dollar store (they are labeled as upholstery tacks), and was wondering if they might fill the bill, as opposed to spending top dollar at the local traditional muzzleloading store.
Your thoughts.......................?

I don't see why that wouldn't fill the bill. I would like to to try that with my T/C Hawken. I'm also going to get a 1:66 twist barrel for it. Send some before and after pictures. Best of Luck.
Regards
Dan
