gardening

It is that time of year again i have been working in the yard when i have time becouse i have a shift that sucks i am rather excited to get it going.
I was wondering if every one else is getting ready and what they are planting.
I tend to over buy when i buy my plants and the wife complains i like to trade with my family and freinds.
This is time of year that i realy miss my family members It was a time when i would go buy and till and help plant my rother has been gone for 3 year now this pass april 20 he would have got the tiller ready and cleaned it up.
when we would be done there would be a b.b.q and some beer.
It seems to be the rather mudane things that are remembered the most.

I'm still cleaning the Winter mess. Too many yards, not enough time. Plan on putting in a wiz bang garden when I retire.

wrenchman,

I have two gardens: the old one is 50' X 75' and the new one is 45' X 90', both are fenced. Both have been tilled and there are rows of potatoes, turnips and onions in both. After all threat of frost has passed, we have lots of other stuff to put in.

cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, green peppers, spinach, acorn squash, and butternut squash. Also have a patch of raspberries that has done well over the years.

Got the garden all worked up but it will be at least 3 weeks before I can plant anything for fear of frost. Looks like we might get frost again this weekend. We still have a full moon to go before the frost season shold be over.

Gotta get it in by Memorial Day as I have foot surgery on June 1 frost or no frost.
