Spring gobblers and my single 12 gauge shotgun.

Last Saturday the PA Spring Gobbler season opened. I was up at 0500 and on station in the woods by 0530. I had a modern 12 gauge shotgun. I called often and only saw two hens. No gobblers talked back to my calls. I put the modern 12 gauge away and put the single 12 gauge barrel on my .54 caplock Renegade.

The last two mornings, as I split my Winter 2010-2011 firewood in the backyard, I heard gobblers gobbling up in the West Woods. I will be there tomorrow with my caplock.

Who else is hunting Spring Gobblers with a muzzleloader?

Adam

I will be in two weeks. I did have a success bp turkey hunt two years ago (last time I hunted).
I had a couple friends poke fun at me when I told them I would be using my double barrel 12ga bp shotgun. It was great though, the plume of smoke held in the air for a long time when I shot.
